I was scratching my head trying to figure out what was causing Popcorn to whine and bark non-stop for the last two nights, and i think this evening… we figured it out.
You see the little pointed white object at the side of Poppy’s tongue? What do you think that is?
Have you got it yet?
It’s a loose tooth!! The baby was in the midst of teething! O.O My oh my. I spotted it when we got home today. It sure didn’t look like a tooth from far. I thought the furball went and ate something she wasn’t supposed to!
When we first got home and snuggled with Popcorn on the couch, she looked kinda depressed and lethargic, like how she was when she first came home from surgery. I think she was experiencing some discomfort. Best friend and i hugged her and gave her comfort the best way we knew how — snuggles, kissys and belly rubs!
Then the furball’s mood turned 180 degrees when we started to play fetch. BOL. Like a wild animal on the loose! Haha. When it comes to play time, there’s no stopping the Poptart.
But by the end of 5 minutes, i saw that the paper ball Popcorn had been fetching had blood stains. :(
=…..( Oh Popcorn…
My heart ache.
Just before her bedtime, i gave Poppy a shoulder ride, and gave her plenty of kisses too. Oh baby, i hope the tooth hurries itself out of there. The discomfort will go away soon i promise! ♥
At some point during the night, Poppy wriggled her tongue and moved her jaws from left to right and the little toofy moved back to its “rightful” position. Oh thankfully it isn’t jutting out now! :D
[…] this post to know about how Poppy was like over the last few […]
It does seem like it takes forever for some of those stubborn teeth to fall out. Hope she is over it soon.
Oh yes, three days later, toofy made its grand exit :D
Oh Poppy, I hope you lose that tooth soon! Then the doggy tooth fairy can come visit! I bet she will bring you lots of good treats :)
Ooooo i should have asked Mom to place toofy under my squeakies! I think the tooth fairy missed me!!
Poor little Poppy! We didn’t even know when our last dog lost her baby teeth, but we heard Daisy’s teeth hit the floor every time when they fell out, and her little toy had blood stains too! DD got so upset when she saw the blood stains. :( It’ll all be over soon though, and Poppy will be back to her little self again. :)
:) Thanks Daisy Mommy! You could hear the tooth hit the floor? Wow. I miss watching Popcorn’s tooth fall off every time, and only come across it lying in the middle of the living hall minutes or hours later! i’m so glad that toofy is out now :}
Sweet Popcorn we are happy that you wriggled that tooth back in place and we hope it gives you no more pain or discomfort before it comes out. Glad you enjoy your fetch time and all that pettin’ and lovin’ despite that loose tooth. Hugs and nose kisses
Thank you Mumsy :D Wriggle wriggle! i played fetch like there wasn’t even a toofy problem. The discomfort only came at night. i’m so glad that it is over now! Huggies to Mumsy and Chancy!
This is very new to me…I didn’t know Dogs also loose their teeth.
Thank you for sharing this and I really hope Poppy can have that tooth out soon. Hang in there Poppy!!
=D Yeah! We sure do! :) TOOFY has left the building! ;)
Oh dearie me…..a loose toofie! Well, it sounds like she managed to wriggle and wiggle it back into place anyway – let’s hope it falls out SOON…..I’m sure that bothers her like crazy!
Kitty hugs, Sammy
Crazy crazy Sammy, she couldn’t stop barking at night! :} We’re so glad the toofy came out! :} Poppy hugs!!
