And it’s time to set off!!

.

We’re going to meet Cesar Millan in less than two hours! =O

Weeeeee! Marina Bay Sands, here we come!

 ✵ We’re heading in! ✵

The first thing i saw when we walked into the Grand Theater was this beautiful stage with living hall settings, blue stage lighting, and a door in the middle :) My heart was thumping. I was really looking forward to seeing him :}  You may have noticed that we were pretty near the stage! :} Best friend and i managed to get front row seats, lucky us! :} We were fortunate to be a part of the group that was entitled to Priority Ticket Sales which Starhub released a while ago :) It’s going to be amazing seeing Cesar up close! ;)

Then the announcement came on!

O.O oooooo! A video flashed on the screen, introducing Cesar Millan’s story, and shortly after, the crowd was cheering and clapping to welcome the star of the event! And there he was! Right in front of us! :D

I raised the poster high in the air and slightly waved it to catch his attention :D Hello Cesar! He stopped in his tracks for a brief moment and tried to read what was on the poster.

.

Then he said this….

“Thank you! I love you too!” :D!!

.

It brought a big smile to my face! :)

Cesar Millan is amazing.

His gift, including but not limited to his instincts to pick up on the subtle body language of dogs and respond appropriately, his mindfulness of staying calm and assertive even in a “dog fight or flight” situation, his amazing gauge of when to “poke”, correct, and redirect a dog’s attention away from an unhealthy state of mind, and his ability to empathize with dogs, communicate intent, lead, discipline, and love dogs all at the same time..

…inspires not only me, but i believe every dog/animal lover who was seated in the audience tonight.

 Thank you Cesar Millan. You inspire me to be a better pack leader for Popcorn everyday :}

.

Cesar means business when he says that

“no dog is too much for (him) to handle” :D

.

Intermission.

.

More pups were going on stage after the break and the show was getting even more excitin’!

Cesar showed us several on-stage demonstrations of how he “train people” and “rehabilitate
dogs”
. :)

It was exactly like on the Dog Whisperer show :) He did the Shh! He claimed his space, and he also did his famous dogbite “poke”.

The dogs got the message quickly and it was fascinating to watch! :) You could hear the audience making “ahh..” and “whoa!” expressions as he worked his Dog Whisperer Magic :D He made learning fun! And he made us laugh and smile :} It was wonderful!

Here’s Cesar sharing about the importance of Exercise, Discipline, and Affection and the possible problems that arise from giving your pup Affection, Affection, and Affection.

He shared plenty more about following our instincts, being mindful of our energy and state of mind, recognizing that our dogs mirror our energy and state of mind, the importance of having a positive mental image of how an activity with our dog will turn out, and the importance of implementing rules and boundaries, etc.

Hopefully there’ll be a DVD series of Cesar’s Tours around the world :D

An Important Message

There was an exercise we did during the seminar that i felt helped me understand dogs and their experiences in a whole new light. The exercise was a brilliant way of delivering a very important message. And i think the message was understood by everyone.

Cesar said he was going to talk about having empathy for dogs.

What did he mean by that statement? I was pretty clueless. What crossed my mind were situations of abuse, lack of exercise, lack of companionship, that sort of things. Then he asked us to cheer really loudly to a Black Eyed Peas soundtrack. The music played and everybody started to clap and cheer, some people stood up and danced to the music and this went on for approximately 30 seconds. Thirty seconds was all it took for our heart rate to escalate and for excitement to fill the room. And he said, okay, now calm down. Feel it in your body, and really try to be calm and relaxed — I tried. I could feel my heart thumping, and my breathing was heavier than before. I was trying to reach a calm state when Cesar YELLED STOPPPP!!!!! I was startled.

Cesar said.. imagine your dog experiencing the sudden rise and fall in energy levels and unpredictable shifts in state of mind. That’s how most unstable dogs go through their lives everyday. It made me reflect on whether Poppy has been victim to such inconsistent source of energy lifts and plunges. This was a lesson about empathy. :) *Thumbs up*

Here comes the most exciting part of the day for me!

The seminar ended with a bang! :} Cesar received a standing ovation and the audience cheered wildly! :D He walked past the area where we were seated and waved goodbye. In my heart i was thinking if i should stretch my hand out and pass Cesar the poster. It was what we had planned to do, give Cesar this gift. But i froze, and Cesar walked off the stage. =|

Best friend said, we should have given him the poster there and then, it was the right moment!

Although we were feeling pooped about it, best friend and i had one last chance to hand this gift over to Cesar during the final VIP Question and Answer session. *Fingers Crossed* – Heart Thumping
It was our one last chance.

.

The Q&A was in session, Cesar walked towards the left side of the stage and sat on one of the speakers. That speaker was directly in front of me. O.O oh boy!

Best friend whispered, “put the poster on your lap so Cesar can see”

I placed the board on my lap… clueless about when and in what situation should i pass the board to Cesar. Oh boy!

Question one was answered. Question two was now being read.

And just as Cesar was about to answer question #2, he stood up, walked towards the edge of the stage, leaned forward, and reached out his hand. “Come on, pass it to me” was what i think he said. O.O!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I suppose i had a blank expression on my face! How does a speechless/surprised expression look like? I passed Cesar the poster and he glanced at it for a moment. Then he turned the board and saw the message i had written to him, and he said something like “This is the biggest letter/card I’ve ever received”. :D tsktsk. What followed next was this:

I took out the camera hoping to take a photo of him with the poster. :) Cesar saw and said “Oh yes, come come!” and smiled graciously for the camera :D YAY!

Shot 3 :}

i was beaming away!! :))))))

Oh, remember i mentioned about the cut-out of Cesar and Popcorn in the previous Poster-Making Blog post? The cut-out is right there at the left corner of the board :)

I went on to take several more photos of Cesar holding the poster.

It still feels so surreal that he was holding our poster on stage  I’m still riding on cloud nine!

Here’s Cesar using the board as a “teaching tool” :}

Another gentleman gave Cesar a bouquet of lilies :)

At the end of the Q&A session, Cesar graciously thanked Singapore for making him feel really welcomed and at home during his stay. :) He thanked the audience and he thanked best friend and i for the poster, as well as the gentleman for the flowers. :} You’re most welcome Cesar :) Then he asked, “Can i keep the poster?” :D Weeeee!! I nodded and said “Yes, this is a gift for you“, but i don’t think he heard me :P

Dear Cesar, thank you for making this night such a special and memorable night for best friend and i. :) I’m still beaming away as i’m writing this blog entry. :} We hope you like the gift too. :) Sending well wishes and love from Singapore!  Best friend and i were really hoping to get an autograph from you tonight but the producer said no autographs were allowed. We even printed a photo of you and Popcorn and brought it to the event! I missed out on the chance to get an autograph from you when you were at Vivo City and I saw from the videos on YouTube that some people were lucky to have gotten it. Nonetheless I’m still really happy that we managed to pass you the gift! :} Take care Cesar!

Tonight has been nothing short of exciting, funny, and happy moments. :) But all of this wouldn’t be possible without Popcorn. :) So thank you dear Poppy for coming into our lives :) You bring me so much happiness and i hope you feel the same way too. :} ❤❤❤ Hugs and belly rubs! :)

Popcorn Loves You too!
